JINX Remix: Kyoto Klassique

Kyoto Klassique is JINX’s reinterpretation of Elixir Attar’s beloved Taifi Classique, transformed through a Japanese aesthetic.

The traditional Middle Eastern structure was bent toward a calmer, more meditative narrative. Taif rose was replaced with Japanese Rosa Rugosa, shifting the floral character from opulent to contemplative. Sandalwood was split and intensified with hinoki wood, introducing a clean, resinous, temple-like woodiness.

The base amber accord — derived from JINX’s house amber (as used in JEMS7) — was carefully modified with kōdō sensibilities in mind, evoking Japanese incense ceremonies and quiet ritual. The result is a rose-amber composition that feels restrained, elegant, and deeply spiritual.

Kyoto Klassique is classic in structure, but unmistakably Japanese in soul.

Elixir Attar Remix: J-D’Orient – Costus

For his part, Ahmed Moustafa chose to remix J-D’Orient, drawn to its vintage character and old-world depth.

In J-D’Orient: Costus, the structure was gently modernized. Some of the heavier animalic elements were replaced with a highly distinctive house CO₂-extracted costus, infused with maple-smoke nuances. This costus brings warmth, dryness, and an almost leathery smokiness without overwhelming the composition.

The remix preserves the vintage DNA of J-D’Orient while introducing clarity, balance, and a contemporary edge. It feels familiar yet newly refined — a respectful evolution rather than a departure.
